Are you performing to prove?

It’s ok if you’ve had your head down in your job trying to get it all done.

Sometimes you’re just trying to survive until the next day. Sometimes you’re trying to prove to yourself that you can do it.

Sometimes you’re trying to prove you‘re smart and worthy enough be where you are.

Performing to prove is exhausting.

It feels good when you’re told you do great work. You feel validated.

But you rely on others’ approval of your performance and of you ... all to make you feel you belong, that you deserve to be where you are.

And when that validation goes away, so does your sense of self.

Then things slowly shift. You start to look up. You’re starting to remember the parts of yourself you forgot were always there.

You’re starting to slowly see your soul is meant for more than what you’re doing and the validation you were seeking.

You’re listening to yourself more. You stop numbing how you feel. You can’t see the final destination, but it doesn’t matter.

You’re starting to see that you have incredible gifts you aren’t sharing the way you know you could.

You’re starting to feel your own power.

And that’s where your journey truly begins.

When you own your journey, full of fear and all, your world opens up in ways you can’t even imagine.
